McGinnis School PERTH AMBOY, NJ - The Jewish Renaissance Foundation announces that the JPMorgan Chase Foundation has provided a $10,000 grant to support JRF's New Jersey After 3 program. "We are proud to be a member of the Perth Amboy community and believe in providing assistance to worthwhile organizations and causes in the areas we serve", states Etta Denk, Vice President for Community Development for JPMorgan Chase Bank. "We understand that the well-being of youth has a direct correlation to the overall well-being of our communities". "JPMorgan Chase continues to demonstrate its commitment to corporate philanthropy and to the community of Perth Amboy. In return, we pledge to ensure that each dime of their generous gift goes directly to the benefit of the kids and families served by our NJA3 Program," states Alan J. Goldsmith, PhD, President/Founder of JRF. The New Jersey After 3 program in Perth Amboy is designed to provide students the opportunity to participate in comprehensive, high quality, structured and fun filled activities after school. "We aim to keep kids safe, provide supportive services to families, and builds academic and enrichment skills that will foster productive youth in our communities", states Idressa Calland, Program Director. Situated within two middle schools serving grades 5-8 - the William C. McGinnis School and the Samuel E. Shull School - the NJA3 program provides an extensive and diverse menu of after-school activities designed to expand learning and literacy skills; build character; embrace the arts and culture; and improve overall development. JRF's NJA3 program employs a holistic approach in addressing the 'whole' child, i.e., each of the developmental factors that affect a youth's maturation process. The NJ After 3 program in Perth Amboy operates Monday to Friday 2:45 p.m. to 5:50 p.m., with over 350 youth, ages 9-14, currently enrolled at the two school sites. The JPMorgan Chase Foundation grant will enable JRF to expand the number of youth served by the NJA3-McGinnis site.
